Alexander William George Duff, 6th Earl of Fife, created 1st Duke of Fife two days after his wedding in 1889.
Son of James Duff, 5th Earl Fife (1814-1879) and Lady Agnes Hay (1829-1869), daughter of the 18th Earl of Erroll.

Married: Private Chapel, Buckingham Palace 27. Jul 1889 Princess Louise of Wales (1867-1931), his third cousin, daughter of Edward, Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII. of the United Kingdom (1841-1910) and his wife Alexandra, Princess of Denmark (1844-1925).
