Franz von Teck
Born Franz Paul Karl Ludwig Alexander, Graf von Hohenstein. Created Fürst (Prince) von Teck in 1863 and Herzog (Duke) von Teck in 1871. Since he lived in Great Britain after his marriage, he is usually referred to as Francis of Teck.
Morganatic son of Alexander, Duke of Württemberg (1804-1885) and Claudine, Gräfin Rhédey von Kis-Rhéde (1812-1841), created Gräfin von Hohenstein.
Born: Esseg, Slavonia (today Osijek, Croatia) 28. Aug 1837
Married: St. Anne’s Church, Kew, Surrey 12. Jun 1866 Princess Mary Adelaide of Cambridge (1833-1897), his father’s third cousin, daughter of Prince Adolphus, Duke of Cambridge (1774-1850) and his wife Auguste, Landgravine of Hesse-Kassel (1797-1889).
