George II. of Great Britain and Ireland
Born Georg August Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg, he became Prince of Wales in 1714 when his father ascended to the British throne. He succeded his father in 1727 as George II. King of Great Britain and Ireland.
Son of Georg Ludwig Elector of Hanover, 1714 as George I. King of Great Britain and Ireland (1660-1727) and his wife (and first cousin) Sophia Dorothea Duchess of Brunswick-Lüneburg (1666-1726).

Married: Hanover 22. Aug 1705 Caroline Margravine of Brandenburg-Ansbach (1683-1737), daughter of Johann Friedrich Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach (1654-1686) and his second wife Eleanor Princess of Saxe-Eisenach (1662-1696)
