Alice of the United Kingdom

Princess Alice Maud Mary of the United Kingdom.

She was named Alice in honor of Prime Minister Lord Melbourne, who had once remarked that it was his favourite name; Maud, the Anglo-Saxon form of Matilda, in honor of her godmother Sophia Matilda of Gloucester; and Mary for her great-aunt Princess Mary, Duchess of Gloucester, with whom she shared her birthday.
