1. 29. Sep 1949 (div. 1967) Maria Donata (Marion) Nanetta Paulina Gustava Erwina Wilhelmine Stein (b. Vienna 18. Oct 1926), concert pianist, daughter of Erwin Stein (1885-19958) and his wife Sophie Bachmann (1883-1965). She married secondly in 1973 Jeremy Thorpe (1929), then leader of the Liberal Party.

2. Waveny Park, New Caanan, Connecticut 31. Jul 1967 Patricia Elizabeth Tuckwell (b. Melbourne 24. Nov 1926), fashion model, daughter of Charles Tuckwell and his wife Elizabeth. She had married firstly in 1948 (div. 1957) photographer Athol Shmith (1914-1990).
