Son of Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester (1900-1974) and his wife Lady Alice Montagu-Douglas-Scott (1901-2004), daughter of John Montagu-Douglas-Scott, 7th Duke of Buccleuch and 9th Duke of Queensberry (1864-1935)
