1. Ebersdorf 4. Jul 1787 Henriette Gräfin Reuss zu Ebersdorf (1767-1801), daughter of Heinrich XXIV Graf Reuss zu Ebersdorf (1724-1779) by his wife Karoline Ernestine Gräfin zu Erbach-Schönberg (1727-1796).

2. Coburg 21. Dec 1803 Viktoria, Princess of Saxe-Coburg and Saalfeld (1786-1861), his first wife’s niece, daughter of Franz, Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld (1750-1806) and Augusta, Gräfin Reuss zu Ebersdorf (1757-1831).
