Named for her maternal grandmother, Josephine Fürstin von Hohenzollern, née Princess of Baden.

Daughter of Philippe Prince of Belgium, Comte de Flandre (1837-1905) and his wife Marie Princess of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen (1845-1912).
